The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission (CCRPC) is one of 11 regional planning commissions in Vermont and the only one that also serves as a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Based on the 2010 Census, Chittenden County is the most populous in Vermont, home to about one-quarter of the state’s residents.

Founded in 1966, the CCRPC was established to encourage cooperation among municipalities and to guide the region’s development and resource preservation efforts.

The Commission is made up of 19 municipal commissioners, each appointed by their town or city’s legislative body, along with five at-large commissioners who represent Agriculture, Conservation/Environment, Socio-Economic/Housing, and Transportation. Each commissioner has one vote, and the five at-large members are selected by the Full Commission.

Williston appoints one commissioner and one alternate to represent the town on the CCRPC.
