Meeting Minutes - August 11, 2021
August 11, 2021 Cemetery Meeting Members Present- Jack Price Meeting called to order 3 PM Old Business: Secretary's minutes accepted Skipped financial report until next month Cornerstones - We have 6 sets of cornerstones to be installed. Jack will call Bob and tell him he has 3 sets, and will call Gordon St. Hilaire and let him know he also has 3 sets. Someone will have to get them started as to location, what with all the lots we've sold this summer. New Business - The Emerson stones have been set by Woody Woodman Will ask Sarah Mason to order us 400 flags, enough to get us through next summer as we are almost out now. Cameron will try to buy 3 dozen more locally. We need to fix the cornerstone error in row F in Deer View. Have to figure out just which goes where. We will work on a designation of pauper grave sites in Morse and Chittenden Cemeteries, and at some point will install a plaque of remembrance and delineation of area of graves. We have no scheduled burials at this date. It would be nice to have a map of Deer View showing the rows and lots, and a list of the veterans buried there. It could be put on the side of the shed as was mentioned a few years ago. Need to find out who keeps track of the Veteran burials in the cemeteries. Good question for Sarah Mason. Need new letters on the posts at Deer View. Jack made a very nice stencil, and said he would repaint the posts and paint the letters on. About 100 lots left in Deer View. Should St. George residents pay local rate on lots or out of town rate? It was decided that they could get the resident rate as a good many of them have our zip code, they pat their school taxes to the district and all their children go to Williston schools and on to CVU.
Next meeting Sept. 8, 2021 at 3 PM at the Band Stand if weather permitting. Meeting adjourned 4.40 PM
