Meeting Minutes - April 14, 2021

April 14, 2021 Cemetery meeting

Members present:

    Bea Harvey

    Jack Price

    Cameron Clark

    Hazel Winter

Old Business:

Secretary's report accepted.  It was added that on November 5, 2020, Woody Woodman was paid $125. for repairing one broken stone.

We would like to have a monthly itemization of cemetery disbursements.  Nobody seems to understand the financial sheets we're given and would really like to see just where the money goes, item by item.

New Business

The letter Jack wrote to the funeral directors was very good, laying out what their responsibilities are as to state rules with the Covid virus situation.

Very pleased to see the acceptance of Guilmette Landworks for upkeep of the grounds.

Deb Harvey aka Maple Leaf Memorials will no longer be able to supply us with corner stones.  Therefore, after getting prices from other dealers, we have settled on Bianchi for them at $160 for the four.

Memorial Garden's charge is $500 for the burial space, and that includes the lettering and the burial.  We may be looking at raising the price in the next year or so.  Out of the $500 we have to pay the engraver to do the name, as well as the person that actually does the ground work for the cremains.

Discussion of what Gordon St Hilaire charges and what Bob Gokey charges.  Have decided to give all Memorial Garden burials to Bob as he is well acquainted with the spacing there.

The Scouts will install the flags before Memorial Day, and the larger stands the flags will be zip tied in.

The Metsenzahls will mulch the Memorial Garden.  The town will bring us a load of bulk mulch.

Cameron will get the lime for East.  Jack will help spread it.

May Burial:  May 8, Memorial Garden

May 24, East Sec 6

July Burial:  July 10, Sec 5

Discussion of when next meeting will be.  Decided on Old Brick Church, outdoors, in case of rain we'll either put it off until the next day, or meet inside.  Therefore, the next meeting is May 12, 2021, on the back lawn at the Old Brick Church.

Meeting adjourned 4.30 PM

Respectfully submitted,

Hazel Winter
