October 6, 2021  Cemetery Meeting

Meeting called to order 3.30 PM

Old Business

Drew and Jack met with Shirley about the budget and how to understand it.  Shirley was most helpful, and suggested it might be easier for her to give us an Excel Spreadsheet.  Much appreciated, hopefully we can sort this out at long last.

In Section 5 of East, a veteran's flag stand was run over by the mower and Bruce will get the stake fixed.  there have been several that Cameron has been able to fix.

New Business

Gordon was over paid for setting the cornerstones.  Jack will write to him and let him know that as of July 9, 2020 we were only paying $100 for 4.  Therefore, he has a credit with us.  

Revision of Rules and Regulations has been postponed until this winter.  They need to be done, but we seem to be kept very busy with day-to-day business.

Flags will  be ordered in January with the town's bulk order.

We have an old endowment fund that used to pay for all the cemetery bills.  When the market went down in2008(?), the interest couldn't keep up and the town had to take it over.  The endowment is still there, we do get interest from it, but we can't touch the principal.

On the Lot Sales Agreement we need to remove "Bond for Perpetual Care" as we don't have perpetual care as such.  

As of July 1, 2021 and today's meeting, Bea has sold 9 lots in Deer View.  The end of fiscal year 20-21, there were 25 sold in Deer View.

We voted to change the meeting from Wednesday to Thursday at 3.30 PM.  The next meeting is Nov. 11, 2021 at the Old Brick Church.

Jack will inform Bruce that the entrance gate is broken and unusable.  Hopefully the town crew can fix it.
