Sarah Mason has been the town clerk for Williston since 2020.  She started in 2012 as assistant clerk and assistant treasurer to previous clerk/treasurer, Deb Beckett.   Sarah is a member of VMCTA (Vermont Municipal Clerks and Treasurers Association) and serves as the President of the Chittenden/Grand Isle County Clerks group.  She received Certified Vermont Clerk status in January of 2025, reflecting on-going continuing education and professional development within VMCTA and beyond. 

Sarah was born and raised in Williston and is always happy to help residents, friends and neighbors with their needs.   

The town clerk position is elected every three years.

Jen has been an Assistant Clerk for Williston since 2013, rising to Senior Assistant Clerk in 2025, a reflection of her time, effort and dedication to our town.  Jen joined the team after back to back retirements in the clerk's office.  She and Sarah both were appointed and served under the guidance and direction of our previous clerk/treasurer, Deb Beckett.  Jen is the Recording Clerk and handles all aspects of documents for land record recording.  She also serves as the Vital Records Clerk, a job that must be kept separate from any passport duties held by the clerk.  Jen is also member of VMCTA and attends numerous classes, workshops and trainings that are always being offered in our field.  Her top notch organization and office management skills keep the clerk's office running smoothly. Assistant clerks are appointed by, supervised by, and serve at the will of the Clerk.
