Meeting Minutes - August 13, 2020
Minutes of the Cemetery Meeting August 13, 2020
Meeting called to order 3 PM
Members present: Jack Price Bea Harvey Cameron Clark Hazel Winter
Old Business:
Shirley can't make it to the meeting for a financial report. Next month we will probably have one.
Burd's Lawn care has started mowing the cemeteries. We are wondering of the possibility of having the lime spread by them in September or October.
Jack will check with Shirley to find out if Burd's has the proper insurance.
Gordon St. Hilaire put in 2 sets of cornerstones, one set had to be switched. Bob Gokey still has 2 sets to switch out and one set to put in in East.
New Business:
No burials are on the schedule as of now.
Selling lots and marking them out should go together. We feel we should all have knowledge of how to do it, with probably 2 people assigned to take care of it.
Find out who does the hedge trimming at Deer View, or who orders it done. The hedges are looking pretty scraggly.
Maple trees in East on the north fence have been trimmed back.
The gazebo in Deer View has a worn paint job on the floor, but it's over treated lumber, and should be OK. Jack said he has a gallon of something appropriate, and said if he gets a chance he could take it down and give the floor a coat.
Lime should be spread again in September/October in East.
Bea has said she will be with us until at least January, then will step down from the board. It will be a great loss to the board. In the meantime, we anticipate an opening, and will welcome a new member at the appropriate time.
We definitely need to consider installing permanent ground level markers for reference points in Deer View to assist with defining lots. It would be a tremendous help.
Next meeting September 10 at 3 PM
Meeting adjourned 4.15 PM
Respectfully submitted, Hazel Winter, Sec.
