July 9, 2020  Minutes of the Cemetery Meeting

Meeting called to order 3 pm

A big Welcome to Deb Beckett, our newest member.  So lucky to have her.

Old Business

Minutes need to be on the town web site, I will try to fix this.

Discussion of old and new deeds.  Whichever one you have, we will stand by it.

Financial Report accepted with the note that the income from lot sales should not be taken away at the end of the fiscal year.  We will be getting a monthly budget.

Minutes of last meeting accepted.

East Cemetery has been getting complaints about the lack of grass.  We are working on this, we spread lime in the spring and will again in the fall.  When we finally get the chemistry right in the soil, we will plant grass.  In the meantime, please know that we are working on it.

Discussion of Commissioners duties.

New Business:

We have a set of corner stones that need to be moved.  Normally we pay $100, but as they have to be reset, we will pay $200 for the double work.

We have a burial in East Friday the 10th and one on July 24 in the Memorial Garden.

Unfortunately, Bea Harvey will be retiring from the board either at the end of this season or in the spring.  She will be greatly missed.

Bruce Hoar is advertising for a company to take over the mowing of cemeteries.

Floor of the gazebo needs to be redone.  It's peeling as well as the benches.

Our next meeting will be August 13 at 3 pm, either the gazebo or the lawn, weather depending.
