Meeting Minutes - August 18, 2022
Aug 18, 2022 Cemetery Meeting Meeting called to order 3 pm Members present: We all met Shannon (who is a potential new member) and there was a general discussion of what we do. We sort of discussed a financial report that isn't here yet, but we do know about where we stand. Bruce Hoar will have one of his men put the mulch in the Memorial Garden. Discussed the idea of asking the Boy Scouts to do it next spring. Idea of an insurance claim for the damage done to the stones in the storm was turned down. The Boutin stone hasn't been started yet, but when Woody and Bianchi can get together, it will be. In the fall, all ornaments and memorabilia will be removed from the Memorial Garden, packed up and saved for one year. We rec'd a letter from Stephanie Marcotte regarding purchasing a lot in Deer View. It was determined that as she is a former resident of Williston, she would be charged $500 for the lot plus corner stones. This would apply to any former resident that has proof they were Williston residents at one time. Joyce Goodrich will have the rose bush that was mowed over last year replaced. She will have to go and purchase it, give the town the bill, and will be reimbursed. Burials scheduled, two on Saturday the 20th in East We will change corner stone vendors to Champlain Monuments in St. Albans. He keeps a stock of them, and we will be able to get them a lot faster. Suggestion made to put a 12 inch X 12 inch tile over the urn or container of a cremation so the urn can be found easier. Next meeting Sept 22, 2022 at 3 pm at the police station.
