Meeting Minutes - September 22, 2022
TOWN OF WILLISTON
CEMETERY COMMISSION
MINUTES OF MEETING
September 22, 2022
*Meeting held in the Police Department conference room.
Members present: Others present: Bea Harvey The meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m. The August 18, 2022 minutes were approved by the Commission. Looking at the financial report, the Town has paid for the fencing and tree removal that was due to the storm. The Commission accepted the budget. Joyce Goodrich has been told she can buy a replacement plant for her folks plot and the Commission will pay for it. So far, she hasn't done so. The Commission noted that the town web page should be updated to tell people who to call with cemetery questions. Bruce Hoar has been getting more than his share of questions, and to be fair to him, we need to get the change out there. So far, the Commission has sold 4 lots in Deer View with another one pending final step. The Commission discussed the Memorial Garden and how much room is left. There seems to be enough for some time to come with plenty of room to add an additional section. Shelves will be put up in the shed at East Cemetery for storage. Columbarium Discussion: Our rules and regulations state that there are to be no more than 2 cremains burials per lot. As we have are anticipating a request for 2 lots each with a columbarium for 4 cremains in each, we do have an interest in exploring the possibility of permitting more than 2 cremains per lot. This would require a Rules and Regulations change. Next meeting October 20, 2022 at the Police Department at 3 PM
Respectfully Submitted, Hazel Winter, Sec. |
