Town Hall Field (Former Lyon Property)
 

The Town of Williston Conservation Commission recently updated the management plan for the Town Hall Field (Former Lyon Property), a 24-acre open space parcel owned by the town and conserved under an easement held by the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board. The property is located in the Village directly south of and abutting the town office complex (see below).

The town acquired the property in 1994 from H. Warren Lyon. Historically the property was used for agriculture but today there are 25 pole-mounted solar trackers. The trackers occupy roughly 8% (2-acres) of the property while the remainder of the property remains open. The land is managed with the joint goals of providing for various municipal and recreational uses, maintaining the view from the I-89 corridor, and protecting wetlands.
