The Town of Williston is aware that some residents are experiencing dry wells due to ongoing dry conditions. We have developed the following plan to help ensure that affected residents have access to water:
- Contact the Department of Public Works (DPW):
If your well has gone dry or you are experiencing water shortage issues, please contact the DPW at 802-878-1239 during regular business hours (8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.) to discuss your situation.
- Initial Steps: You should first contact private water haulers to provide you with water.
- If You Cannot Secure a Water Delivery:
If a private hauler is unavailable or there is a delay, the Town can sell water to residents at the retail rate. Water will be available for pickup at the DPW Garage on Avenue A. Fill-ups will be scheduled directly with the Water Department.
- Payment:
Residents will be billed for the metered water through the Town’s existing billing system. There is no need for upfront payment.
- Container and Transport:
The Town will provide the water at the meter. Residents are responsible for bringing their own containers and transporting the water. Please note that the Town assumes no liability if the container used is not rated for potable (drinking) water.
DPW staff will work with affected residents to ensure that everyone has access to water during this period.
