The Town of Williston Police Department is seeking part-time public safety Dispatchers to play a crucial role in ensuring public safety. If you have exceptional communication skills, can stay composed under pressure, are driven to make a positive impact, and have experience as a Dispatcher, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently handle emergency and non-emergency calls
- Direct calls to appropriate authorities and personnel
- Monitor and respond to radio communications
- Record and manage information, while maintaining confidentiality
Qualifications:
- Exceptional communication skills and fluency in English
- Ability to remain composed under pressure
- Proficient multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to adeptly use communication and dispatching systems
- Timeliness, active listening, and attention to detail
Requirements:
- Pass a comprehensive criminal background check
- Previous public safety dispatching experience
- NCIC certification
Compensation and Additional Info:
- Competitive starting wage: $27-$32 per hour based on experience
- $1.20 per hour shift differential for work between 5 pm and 7 am
- Work schedule is “as needed”, up to 24 hours per week. Shifts vary and include nights, weekends, holidays, and possible overtime.
- Town of Williston Dispatchers work in unison with Town of Essex Dispatchers and are co-located at the Essex Police Department
